... We are built for the FALL

So, today I went rollerblading for the first time in a really long time and it showed! Lol I don’t know anyone who likes to fall. I sure don’t. But, I did a lot and guess what, it was ok!

Lessons from the fall…

Sometimes, just the thought of falling is so scary. Scary enough to make us not even want to try. We think about how much it’s going to hurt. How far we’ll even make it before we do. We think about how ridiculous we're going to look. Will others laugh? Will we even be able to pick ourselves up? So many thoughts.

Today, this simple lesson was reiterated to me, as I continuously fell- and it wasn't that “it’s ok to fall” because that’s a great lesson too. And it wasn't to know that we often will fall, and that when we do it’s important to get back up. Although, all those are very true.

But, the reminder that I grabbed a hold on today was how RESILIENT we are- and THAT is the very reason that we are able to get back up!!!

I fell so hard one time that I thought I was done- and- you- know- what, I wasn't! The fall hurt, yes, but, I was more resilient than it.

The lesson is that not only is it good to get back up but it is to understand that we are STRONG enough to! The emphasis is that WE ARE able and often times more capable than we give ourselves credit for. We are built for the FALL. Often times when we fall, we don't see how we're going to get back up- how we're going to get back on the right track- or how we're going to build again- but may I remind you today that you are strong enough to. You will and it's because you can. So, today, I'm thanking God for resiliency. Resiliency to get back up, resiliency to want to try again and thanking God because He BUILT us for it! Literally, our body is a self healing organism. Everything we need, God has equipped us with.

I also learned that it's important to grace ourselves when we do fall, because "skill" won’t immune us from a fall. We are all vulnerable. So, the less emphasis and concern we put on the “fall” or on how not to fall- and the more focus we draw to the fact that we are actually strong enough to sustain and overcome the fall, the more we will be propelled to go!! Don’t let the fear of falling stop you and don’t let failure stall you. We've got what we need to get back up!!

So, you, yes you- GO FALL (sorry not sorry). Embrace the fall in all your pursuits, because you my friend are resilient enough to sustain it!

With love,

XoXo
