..."If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly." Romans 12:7-8 NLT.
The Bible makes clear that we each have our own unique gifts; what is awesome is that it's also evident that those gifts are to be shared with others. Ever felt bad about being a giver because you were taken advantage of or you feel as if someone just isn't worth it? You almost loath that trait and wondering how can you be so giving- still.
What's dope is that Jesus himself was that radical. He did not care how He was received. He was bold, in His love; and even when the very world that He came to save betrayed Him- still He- GAVE it all.
My mom told me a story about my dad how a man from his old town had been released from jail and everyone looked down upon him; my dad literally gave the man the shirt off his back, took him inside his house to allow him to bathe and feed him. My goodness. That is a giver that others would probably think is being unwise- but imagine the impact he made on that man that was over looked by everyone else. Yes, be wise in your giving but do it freely. Imagine, If you do not give what God has purposed in your heart to give- who will? God has placed gifts in each of us, that reflect an image of Him and our call is to be the light of the world with those gifts. So, may this be a reminder to never despise the gifts the Lord has given you (even when they are misunderstood) and know how unique they are, and that someone needs just that- something that only you have and can give.
Today, may you walk in the uniqueness that the Lord has called you too- and may you shine the gifts He's bestowed on you--- and may they will all point back to Him, so that He gets the Glory. You are gifted, friend. May you know it, treasure it, and give it to others, as freely as it's been given to you.
With so much love,
